My grandfather was the head civil engineer for 25 years under the Dutch colonialist government in Indonesia who designed and built all the railway bridges in that country. Maybe that is why I am now fascinated with bridges of all kinds... although I am no engineer. :-)

The bridge looks good and sturdy. And a few palm trees always add a nice touch.

The palm trees certainly liven up this bridge! Looks strong and sturdy.

We don't have a train bridge around here and certainly no bridges with PALM trees in front of them! Lucky you!
Nice photo for Louis la Vache's BRIDGE meme

Black and white works beautifully with this scene. The bridge encompassed by all that foliage is lovely. It is one mammoth structure...built to last and last. Nice shot.

Functional and attractive. This understated scene makes me want to see it in person.

It's also about the palm trees. I grew up with trees and construction that wasn't quite like this, but this shot reminds me of its basic qualities and appeal. Alas, it's mostly gone now, given over to construction that doesn't have any appeal for me at all.

The palm trees add an unexpected touch to this sturdy bridge scene.

Wonderful shot. Great perspective. I love the old bricks, the steel and the palm trees. Nice in black and white.
