There is nothing that can equal the ceramic artistry of Portuguese tiles. I was with Sharon when we went to the parks of Mendoza, Argentina which she referred to above. They are nice and very imprissive, but they do not equal what can be seen in Portugal.
This is incredible! How I would love to visit here! As always your photos are the next best thing to being there in person! Hope your week is going well, JM!
Those pictures tell a tale! Whatever one thinks of the European "invasion" of the New World, there are so many fascinating and incredible stories! This is an amazing wall!
As a teacher of American history, the story of Columbus was one of my favorite segments.
Oh I'm slow tonight, I looked for a story in your text before I realized it was on the beautiful tiled walls! :{ I admire the blue tiles of Portugal, lovely artwork.

This is so beautiful. It reminds me of something similar I saw in Mendoza Argentina. There is so much to see in this fountain.
History beautifully told.
It makes me wonder what it is like to discover something unknown, like a New World!

Incredible tiles. Love this kind of urban decoration.
Beautiful tiles, of course. Do the fountains ever run? I bet they are gorgeous. MB
These are fantastic photos. I cannot belive that they have been around since the 1700's. They do not make things today like they used to!!! Diane
A real feast of azulejos and some spectacular benches. May I...?
Fantastic! «Louis» would like to see this in person!
Wow! This is a beautiful place and these are beautiful photos, JM.
Beautiful work.
What wonderful old tiles - I'd love to sit and study the story.
