I've been watching the devastation in Japan with horror and heartbreak, but so far I have not yet heard of the loss of any major cultural relics, have you, Jose?
A minha primeira vontade foi de fazer a mesma pergunta que Léia! Mas vejo que o tema do post é grave e fico triste ao pensar nos acontecimentos no Japão.
*** Obrigada pela partilha e feliz fim de semana****
Marvelous capture as always, JM, and, yes, I too wish armor could protect the Japanese. I've been relieved to hear from several Japanese friends that are doing okay so far. But I'm afraid the horror isn't over yet! Hope your weekend is going well!
As many of you have gathered by now, I’m in the process of moving to my own apartment. Four years ago my youngest son talked me into moving to Seattle from Portland and into his house. I had never wanted or planned to live with any of my four kids, not because I didn’t love them, but because I do and I wanted them to be able to have the life they wanted without still being “under” Mom’s eye. But he has a dog, he was traveling a great deal at the time and it would be more comfortable to know that someone was in the house and was there for Mojo. So, I eventually agreed and moved up. It has worked out pretty well for us, but nearly a year ago he met a very wonderful woman with whom he shares a lot of interests plus she also has a dog! I think they’re the perfect match – the two of them AND their dogs. Unfortunately, she lives in Portland and they’re in the process of trying to figure out a way that they can be together. I felt it was time for me to find a place of my own and I began the process. I have found a wonderful apartment in a great part of town. It has an incredible view, lots of light and windows and everything I could possibly need within walking distance. I’m very excited and can’t wait for all the paperwork required for seniors to be done with so I can move in! I’ll be sharing it through photos later. But this is the reason for my new header that my dear friend in India has made for me to celebrate!! And I am celebrating!! So! Hold good thoughts for me and for a quick and painless move!!
This reminds me of the Army Museum in Paris. Nice photo, JM. I really can't add anything constructive about the disaster in Japan...it is mind-boggling!

Neat painting... all can help.
Beautiful. And an equally beautiful print!
Elegant armor. I wish it could help protect the Japanese today.
Great post! Both the photo and the print are awesome!

Fantastic uniform! I think now I finally know where they got an idea when creating Darth Vader's costume..
There is a certain elegance in this armor. Great poster, by the way.

Wow that really is impressive.
So sad ...
The outfit seems strangely modern.
Muito bem utilizado! Tenho que voltar ao museu quando tiver tempo...
Love the print and good idea.
