I love it, JM! Fun and mysterious entrance and definitely different! Gorgeous garden and, yes, I'm with Sharon -- two scoops of chocolate mint please!! I love Leif's first impression! What a hoot! Enjoy!
Beautiful at the end of the long alley -- but even if it weren't, I don't know if I'd care as long as there was Haagen Daaz there (make mine coffee flavored please ;>) ).
Almost a happening, with a great surprise at the end and a wonderful view! Do you know if this 'entrance' is something temporary or a deliberate choice?
@VP: It's a deliberate choice, but it's also the only way to get to the terrace garden without crossing the manor (3rd pic), which I have no idea to whom it belongs. This entrance is what we call the 'àrea de serviço' of the house for servants, deliveries, etc.
How very interesting...I'd be a bit fearful of venturing beyond those curtains if I didn't know what I would fine. But I'll go through any dark alley for Hagen Dazs!
That is such a unique entrance and the ultimate destination so worth it. I bet all those white "sheets" feel really good against the skin on passing through. A beautiful spot to enjoy a cool treat with a great view. Not much can beat that. You just wouldn't guess it from the entrance!
I thought it kind of looks like those plastic flaps they put over commercial fridge and freezer doors so they don't lose so much cold air when they move product in and out. Maybe they're trying to keep the ice cream from melting?
Or maybe a car wash ...
Whatever it is, I'm actually more concerned about whether they serve sugar free chocolate mint!!! Great shots of a delicious place!

JM, these are fabulous, particularly that second imagine...like a white fantasy.
I have SUCH a weakness for Haagen Datz ice cream! That said, this garden is like a dream! A great view, too :D
That view gives me the travel bug.
Interessante, gosto de mistério... algo a descobrir.
At first, I thought it was an entrance to a car wash! Ha!
How mysterious and a great surprise at the end!!
@Leif: LOL!
I like this mysterious entrance leading to a beautiful garden. I'll take two scoops of chocolate mint!

The name of the place is inviting and the place itself charming!
That is a great surprise at the end of the foamy white passage. And ice cream too!

It doesn't look promising to start with - but I'd go amywhere for one of their ice-creams!
Very beautiful and interesting photos!
Fortunately, the name Häagen-Dazs is universally known. Follow the ice cream trail....
My favorite ice cream!

Beautiful entry-way. I wonder how they keep it clean and white, serving ice cream?? :-D
It must be like walking into an oasis to enter that lovely space! Nice one.
oh yes, I would walk through a veil of white netting to get to Haagen Dazs
Ficaram muito bem.... convidativo:)
What an interesting entrance. Wonderfully presented.
Such a humble entrance leading to an amazing setting! Love the white flowing curtain!
mmm Haagen Dazs.... I always feel like I am floating when eating my ice cream, so the floaty curtains are perfect!

Darn! How did I miss that when I was there?
I thought it was the entrance to a car wash from the first picture. I'm sure it tastes much better.

Interesting entry but hey if you get ice cream in the end I am all for it.
what a unique entrance! you'd be craving for ice cream by the time you hurdle the "curtains".:p

All of the above JM, plus now I desperately want ice cream!!
I thought it was a car wash,
Original! Não teria imaginado que ao entrar por essa porta iria parar a um lugar tão lindo e com uma bela vista sobre o Tejo!
