It's Beach Season

Conceição Beach at Cascais
It's a lovely beach but I wouldn't spend one hour here, I need LOTS of space! :-)

I agree, I would not want to be this close to my neighbor. The umbrella's make for an interesting pattern.

Também preciso de um lugar ao sol!

This reminds me of a comment by Yogi Berra (an old American baseball player known for saying funny things, often inadvertently). He once commented about a place like Coney Island that it is so crowded that no one goes there anymore.

I see what you mean. It does look like it gets crowded. The color of the water is great.

Que delícia! As barracas são lindas e a foto ganhou um ângulo onde o branco das barracas valorizam o azul do mar.

Terrific capture, but I'm with you -- I need lots of space! Gorgeous blue water though! Hope your week is off to a great start, JM! Enjoy!

I'm with you, JM. I like a nice quiet lonely beach. This looks like the place to go if you like to see and be seen.

I totally agree!

Hey, where is everybody? Where are the beach bodies?!

I agree with you, but the umbrellas are cool!

Yeah, me neither. But following the line of sight, over to the line of palms. Why do municipal leaders think that palm trees like this do ANYTHING positive. They are ugly. The do not provide sufficient shade. They drop lots of fronds and nuts. They do the same over here.

Ugh ...

has style.... these umbrellas.
Well, I guess it will be plenty of people there soon.

Looks like no-one is around!

The umbrellas make a good photograph, but I don't like the too-organized way that beaches like this are laid out. I saw some Italian beached that had miles and miles of umbrellas laid out, and it was a turn off.

Great composition and I completely agree with you! That's a bit too close, especially in a swimsuit! :)

Oh, ugh! The water looks wonderful - what you can see of it! :-) I agree. Don't fence me in!

Great shot! I am like you I need lots and lots of space.

These umbrellas are so very close I think you could hear what all of your surrounding neighbors were saying. I agree with you...I need more space!

Not my cup of tea either. I think the worst I've ever seen with my own eyes is Benidorm, Spain, but there are plenty of places like it.

I think it is a very picturesque sort of scene - one that I usually prefer to take in from afar; to sit or stand for a while and people watch; take in the scene and photograph it, perhaps but not be part of it myself.

I am with you - I need space to enjoy the ocean. That is one reason I love Nova Scotia, though sand beaches are rare in that province.

I am getting claustaphopia just looking at the picture. MB
