Creature Reflections

Ribeiro da Cunha Palace, Lisbon
Below is the creature reflected in the mirror.

I have no information about this work. Maybe it was used in the movie shootings or it was just a piece for sale at the market that took place here (last sunday post).

Love that first photo! The symmetry is mesmerizing and the color and sharpness superb.

Now that's what I'd call a red carpet. Would love to make a grand entrance on that staircase in an elegant gown. I wouldn't even mind having the sculpture behind me!

It seems a bit out of place in such a classic setting. It is a little scary to look at.

I like the close-up of the 'creature' it's quite bizarre. Amazing museum.

Brilliant staircase.

What ever it is, it has an elegant frame up there on the top of the stairway.

What a very intriguing, uh, sculpture? The first photo is amazing, and as I perused some of your older posts, i found myself mesmerized. You are awesome!

A perfect elegance and symmetry of an old staircase and the craziness of something we don't know anything about... Let me like both, in my opinion they are a good match!

That is an odd piece, but I do love that gorgeous good morning staircase. I just became your 300th follower. Your photos are captivating. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome staircase and WOW! what an incredible capture! And a gorgeous good morning staircase it is! Now, as for the view in your last photo -- great shot of whatever and they do make an interesting pair, but think I'll stick with the first one! Terrific post for the day as always, JM! Enjoy your weekend!

Gorgeous staircase, JM! The character in the mirror is something else, though. Actually, I'd imagine you could get quite a charge if you touched it! :-)

Wish you were in the reflection and would have a picture that would look like the Las Meninas by Velasquez. Beguiling picture!

Wonderful staircase but quite the bizarre creature!

I'd love to make a grand entrance down that stair....but not with that alien 'thing' staring at me!

What a marvelous setting, JM! But I think I might consider replacing that sculpture. Just about anything would look better there.

Whatever it is meant to be it is elegant and graceful and I like it!

so cool that you live where this beautiful place AND the beaches (like in the post below) are handy for your photo of the day.... makes a great place to live.

I kind of like the 'thing' as Ciel calls it, it's intriguing and would certainly get people's attention. Great photo's JM, the staircase if divine!!

Saw something very similar to this in a museum in Ireland, Kilkenny if I remember well, years ago. Don't remember who the author was.

I love the staircase, and your perfectly symmetrical photo of it! The "creature" is scary, I think...
