@Brattcat: Winter storms are a problem! There are 520 beaches at risk on the Portuguese coast (falling cliffs mainly), 70 of them will disappear in a near future. This small country's getting even smaller... :-)
We do a lot of conservation of the beaches here in Perth JM, like planting in the sand dunes etc. Do you do this sort of thing in Portuagal? Tantalizing picture!

I love the sense of anticipation in this shot. Walk down those stairs and ramp and you do can frolic on the beach like those little people down there.
