your old mills are much different than old mills here! i wouldn't even know what this was if i was travelling....the white one kinda looks beachy, the other, industrial.

The new version is less scary but still strange.
It looks sterile and cold. It's neighbor, on the other hand, looks inviting. Whitewash looks too extreme.

You definitely need sunglasses to look at this now. What a difference!
@Brattcat: Actually one winter (and taggers year round) is enough to make it look decayed. Whoever paints it, does it every spring.
@Kate: All I know is that it used to work with the tides but, honestly, I have no idea how and I never managed to get any information.
