Such stark contrast between the ultra smooth, shiny white against the warm and rough textures of the building. I think this image goes very well with your facebook post down below about the credit rating agencies! A pox on all your houses...
I agree....great contrasts in this image. From the dashboard preview, I thought the individual was real, which was almost scary. Glad to see it's a statue.
I do love the contrast in texture and color and it is stark! I think the leaders of most of our countries should have to take time sitting in a dark corner with the pointed hat on their over sized heads! Great post and capture, JM! Hope you have a lovely weekend!
It's brilliant, an illustration of the ancient theory that humiliation can change someone's behavior to what you want. In this country, the association with the Ku Klux Clan is inescapable.

love the textures in this. it's been a long time since i've seen a dunce cap. i love that the artist has seated his 'dunce' on a stack of books.
Oh no, in the corner with a dunce cap. Poor boy.
The setting looks more like a dungeon. I'm glad he is not chained with that chain.
It happened to me once or twice but never with a cap. Fantastic textures and I love the white against the dark colours.
Interesting contrast, the dunce look fairly new when compared to the door.
Pobrezinho!

What an unusual piece of art JM, really love that he/she is sitting on a pile of books. Excellent find!

A beautiful scene...
A close friend told me they now use the "naughty step" for the child to be punished.

Love it! Love your shot!
I love the shades of this photo!
I only had to do that once in my childhood and I found it to be quite embarrassing.
Perfect. It is a lovely white sheen on the student and lovely aged brown and gray colors in the room. Very nice.
I love this piece of art. And your photo, piece of art, too.
Once in a while I see an installation I really appreciate!

Muito bem retratado

He he he! Excelente! Que pena que isso já não seja possivel! E os alunos que cada vez são mais burros!

Bjos e feliz domingo, José****
What a great find & no pop-up ads! YaY! =)
Although just a statue, it makes me very sad.
My teachers used the cane rather than "Go to the corner."
These days they call it Time out and reflect.
Wonderful shot - but so sad. I'm glad they don't do this anymore where I live.
As usual, your pics are, simply, breathtaking!
Gracias y saludos,
OH my. What a find. Gorgeous old door with the stark white sculpture. Interesting the books...........
Beautiful shot JM>

I almost missed this wonderful shot, my computer is acting strange. This is a great capture!
What an odd sculpture. Not sure that I care for it. But I like that old door.
This is funny (with a lot of truth in it too)!
That is a great find.
I wonder what he did to have to sit there forever.
