Sign of the Times

How often would you see policemen at beaches before one or two decades ago? Never.

Brilliant beach scene JM, I know we have police patrolling the beaches too in summer now, there are always the few who don't quite know how to behave in a proper way in public!!I have to say your two police don't take away anything from this amazing outlook!!

Yes, you commented on an unfortunate aspect of too many public places, worldwide. On the plus side, the policemen certainly do have a place for a terrific assignment. It's a beautiful beach.

ca sent les vacances ;)) belle plage

It's a sad reality of today's world! But at least their assignment is at the beach - lucky for the policemen!

Never yet seen any in Brittany. Oh that sea... ;-)

You are so right! Different times! But, what a wonderful summer scene you've shown us!

Ya, what an assignment. Tough work.

True. But I guess another sign of the times is that I actually prefer to see them there. :)

Unfortunate that we need them on hand.
At least their uniforms blend in with the beach scene...

I stopped at the beach last evening and encountered a pair of police myself. Didn't think of it, but these two look like they're watching (or checking out the bikinis). Love this summery shot.

Wherever there is a crowd, there will be police. Those two policemen are very good looking men. I can think of worse jobs than patrolling that lovely beach.

Hopefully, they have nothing to do except enjoy the view!

You are right. Maybe I am getting older, but I am quite happy with that!

I can't really say if I recall there being police at beaches 10-20 years ago. But I do think their presence is a good thing. :)

PS: I am sending this comment from the comfort of my sofa on my very own internet connection!!!

Such a sad statement and a definite sign of our times, but, OH, what a gorgeous beach! I bet the policemen don't complain about their assignment!! Hope your week is going well, JM!

I bet they have to bid for that assignment! Lovely beach!!

The oddest thing, JM, is that we do have them on the beaches and we don't give them a second thought. We think of it as normal, although your comment makes me think we should be disturbed by the need to have patrols.

Muito bem visto, realmente não eram assim tão óbvios!

Oh yes, here as well. They're chasing, in that order:
- chinese masseuses
- pakistani lateros, selling drinks on the beach
- pickpokets

Dina said...

At least the beach police get to wear shorts.

I don't know what disturbs me most... to SEE cops on a beach, to NEED cops on a beach, or to read that people think they're a good idea. :-(
