Never Say Never

I hate McDonald's. I've been to one in Delhi six years ago (after travelling for one month in India, I really felt the urgent need of having some food that was NOT spicy). However, I was starving yesterday and just before arriving at the beach (and to the nearest bar!), the smell of burger and chips made me turn right, so there I was for the first time. Gladly, it seemed everyone was getting sun tanned, so the place looked almost deserted.
This circular building at Oeiras was a great icon of the 50s architecture before McDonald's.

LOL

Malgré McDo, le bâtiment a l'air superbe. Tu nous montreras l'extérieur ?

Sine my surgery I have not frequented this type of establishment. Good for me!

These pictures look like they are from a mag on architecture. Great, love them. And definitely wouldn't have thought McD could look this cool.

Enjoy your weekend.

Wow - that's the most glamourous McDonald's I've ever seen! Fancy leather booths, too! I take our daughters to McDonald's once per year - then they think I'm the best dad in the world....

Are you saying that this is a McDonalds JM, if so it is the poshiest McDonalds I've ever seen, or maybe it just looks so good because it's not filled with ravenous people. Hope you enjoyed your burger and chips!!

With that elegance, I'd expect waiters with black ties!

Can't blame you. I need a McDonald's every few years too.
But do they really need diagrams of the different cuts of beef on the wall??

I'm not a fan of McDonald's either but, I know what you mean. Every now and then it seems like a good, quick stop. This is a nice looking facility.

McD's seem to be very much into design in Europe lately. This looks really good!

McDonald's stuff is pretty much poison. I try to avoid their restaurants at all costs. Sometimes, though, I've been in a place where there has not been a viable option.

This is a very fancy one, though I'm sorry it destroyed a circular icon of the 50s.

That is the best-looking MacDonald's I have ever seen!

Hey, this is a pretty classy looking McD! I don't frequent them, but I might have to if any of ours looked like this! Great shots, JM, hope you had a satisfactory meal!!

Even your McDonalds looks super-stylish! I haven't visited one since my daughter was little - it was a once in a while treat (though I'm not sure why!)

A wonderful decor...
I believe they have salad on the menu.

That is the most beautiful McDonalds I have ever seen, JM. The furnishings and architecture are remarkably stylish for Mickey D's. I rarely visit them these days, but every now and then I am in a hurry and have a taste for a Quarter Pounder with fries.

I would never guess it's McDonald's!Maybe I should force myself to enter one:)

Também não gosto de McDonald, mas em algumas situações é o que nos salva.

O lugar tem um visual interessante.

I'm with you, I never go to McDonalds. This is a pretty fancy one though.

I found myself doing the same in Japan after a month of rice and stuff ... but was disappointed to find the food, not even the fries, were the same as as home. Sure doesn't look like a MacDonalds.

Am I understanding right, this is a McDonalds?! This architecture doesn't deserve to be a McDonalds, but something much more...well just more! :)

I'm not so fond of Mackers either, but sometimes it is practical. And I do think they are improving on the looks and the quality of food. This looks like just about the fanciest Mackers I've ever seen! :)

I understand about 'Never say Never' and I have been in that same boat--but--McDonald's doesn't do good things for my stomach. Get it???? LOL

The nicest one I've been in was in Madrid. It is housed in a beautiful 19th century storefront on the Gran Via with a huge antique chandelier at the entrance. Fresh made croissants and great coffee. Yours is equally fascinating.

I hate McDonald's too - but the architecture here is wonderful!

Anglos e enquadramentos lindos!
E eu que também tenho horror aos McDonald's teria entrado neste só para admirar a arquitectura!

They snagged a superb building, but it doesn't make their "food" any more edible. Can I tell I don't do McDon't either?

PS. I know better than never to say never... LOL!

PPS. They're good for bathroom breaks where clean, or any, public toilets are hard to find.
