What a superb capture/composition! It does look so very, very old! Coming from such a relatively young country, I've always been fascinated by the ancient buildings I visited when I lived in Europe. I loved it! I think you're probably right about the mobile phone -- they show up everywhere these days -- new form of prayer??? Have a great evening, JM!
This church looks massive, wow! And I had to read about its story on your other post, so much destruction and reconstruction, breathtaking! God bless you! Cezar
I looked at your other posts about this building. It is macabre to me, that the stonework was left as-is in the last restoration. It would be like worshiping in a tomb...but maybe that's the point.
I ditto Birdman. :-D But no, I'd not assume he is lonely. Lone, yes. Still, his presence adds a personal touch and scale to your image of this colossal old church.

i'm not certain if it's your title or the image itself that is so very moving. perhaps the two together. beautiful, jm.
I remember this place. It's the church that is sort of crumbling. I like this shot of the lone man taking in the scene around him.
I hope he's praying for me.
Your caption says the man is lonely, but I hope that in church he does not feel alone.
Such sombre colouring, goes with the lonely man.
It's a very good work!
Clever perspective

What an amazing image JM, these church walls look ancient, it's such a huge space. I wonder how old this church is?
@Birdman: Actually I don't know if he's praying or just checking his mobile phone... :-)))
Nice shot. The lone man gives it more ambiance. We should write a story about him. A mystery perhaps?
Lovely shot. He doesn't seem lonely though - just alone with his thoughts.

Absolutely love the colors
Uma igreja de aspecto bem rústico. Talvez a mais rústica que eu conheça.
What an image, JM. In Portugal, even crumbling churches are marvelous.
This is a lovely photo JM, such a nice mood.
This photo is a winner. Bravo, JM. Old walls, solitude, faith, great composition.
He looks so peaceful...

Super image in terms of subject, composition, exposure, etc.
Lots of things I could say about this lonely soul, but I think you know them already!
I do remember this church from a previous post ... It is magnificent in it's decay!
Yeah, now that you mention it, it looks more like he is checking his phone.

OMG that was me at the basilica today. This is such a beautiful photograph.
Special place!
Maybe he is happy to be alone with his prayers! (I would be lonely if I were in his place.)
Que bella imagen. Buenísima. Saludos.-
Linda!!!
Linda composição! Parece ser uma grande igreja. Mais fotos?
Gosto da atmosfera de paz que há nas igrejas!
