Oct 15 Global Protest - Lisbon (IV)

1- A policeman, not wearing a uniform, is about to try getting a protester out of the statue, who has burnt a newspaper in which the PM says he doesn't have to apologize to the Portuguese people for the unprecedented austerity measures announced last thursday
2- "Smile! You're being robbed"

I hope no one damaged the statue by climbing on it.

Oi veh, balancing on a lion's head! It seems symbolic. I hope they got him down safely.

Yesterday I saw a photo from our Oct 15 demonstration. I was shocked to see how many police were called out for the march. It looked like a "police state".

You have certainly captured some dramatic moments. I wonder if the cop got the protestor to come down.

Did you see Bank of America just posted huge profits!!! And BofA is in the middle of slapping new fees on their customers!

And the Wall Street traders are taking home billions in bonuses again this year.

And the asshat, Herman Cain, that pizza clown who wants to be president, said the poor are to blame for being poor! Morons, all of them!

Thank you for the info on your friend and the project. I'm still a bit confused as to what it's all about but I loved your photos on FB! You really captured the fun and energy of the session.

It's a global art project with some hefty goals? I'd like to know more. Can anyone participate? If so, how? Maybe this is best done in an email?

I hope that demonstrations in Lisbon won't turn into anything similar to those in Rome

Politicians need to be so careful in their use of words..
Yes measures need to be taken to sort out this mess but I don't think we are getting the whole truth.

I hope the cop got the guy down before he hurt himself or the statue. Crazy times right now for sure.

Looks like you were in the thick of it. Amazing the worldwide movement of this. You're getting some great action/documentary shots.
