Lisbon collapsed in November 1755: the earthquake was followed by a tsunami and a five days fire. Then the whole town was rebuilt according to this style.

What a disastrous trifecta of events to happen one after the other JM, one of these things would have been bad enough, but three, that's just not on! I really like the style and colours in the rebuilding!
Well, I think it is a rather elegant style...but the "whole town"? Another question would have to do with requirements for buildings to be earthquake/tsunami resistant?
What are all the wires about. Telephone? Electric power?
You don't have to answer all that; my mind wanders at times!

I find it interesting that the effect of an earthquake so long ago can still be seen.
