The combination of autumn and rain invariably brings the fairies out to play and fairies as every good child knows need their protective parasols . . .
Beautiful close-ups JM, with all the talk above about fairies my 'Enid Blyton' imagination is running riot!!It sounds like your mild Autumn weather didn't last as long as it should have, that's disappointing.
They look quite lovely but not good enough to eat! Thanks for the info on the tiles on my post - I couldn't find any info on the story at all. Our extreme temps are hard on tiles outside so they may not last centuries here.

They look so perfectly formed! I'd almost be tempted to eat one (only almost though!).

et a la fin, une superbe omelette aux champignons ;o))
That is quite a large crop of mushrooms!

It looks as though it was raining mushrooms!! And they do indeed make great parasols for the fairies!!

Boy, things have really mushroomed since I last looked at your blog! And all it took was a little rain, heh?
Nicely done, JM!

Fungi are strange and scary things but some are delicious and as we see here, they make a lovely picture.
Wonderful images... you really are a FunGi!
A bug's eye view with amazing detail. You must have a very good macro lens.
How fun to see these out in the wild.

The mushrooms that follow Autumn rains are one of the annual delights I look forward to. Lovely.
Cool pictures ... the rain came and will stay for awhile !
Lovely shots!!
In Greece a "storm" is upon us! I hope that things are going better for Portugal!
So pretty. They were just waiting for those first awakening drops of rain.

I love the shot of all the mushrooms nestled at the base of the tree!
