Now that's quite a sight JM, not only the castle through the arch, but the arch itself is a decorated piece of art!!

Julie and I loved visiting the Pena Palace, although it was up in the clouds on the December day we were there, and our photos are shrouded in fog.

Superb, JM. Often when I see a marvelous bit of architecture on your blog, I learn it is from Sintra.

Why is it every time you post a shot from Sintra I say, "DANG! Gotta go there!"...?

The sense, scope, and scale of human history is so different in your world than mine. Here, it seems so fleeting and nothing remains long. it's good for me to be reminded that it is not always so and must give you such a different perspective on life. Great shot and angle thru the archway and I appreciate getting to see all the gorgeous details.
