A palatial garage, what a surprise.

I would not have thought that the would have had enough cars to need a large garage building in 1906.

I'd park my car there just to be able to take photos, it's magnificent!

They don't make garages like this any more.

WOW! That is a palatial garage indeed! What a superb capture, JM, and of course, I love your blue skies! Have a great weekend!

I love that kind of architecture.

Re. your comment on VDP about shops: a lot of the little independent shops closed in the past 18 months or so but I was glad to see that new ones have finally opened...

I've never seen such a place. You certainly titled the post properly. The thought of that being a garage is mind-boggling!

Dave said what I was going to say. Who would have thought to build such a big and expensive building for automobiles a century ago?

I love the big windows!

Apologies. It is only now that I begin to go through the list of blogs I like that I realise you have moved. It seems I have been missing some very interesting photos.

However - greetings at Christmas!

A wonderful building to see.. they just use glass and a flimsy frame these days.

what will archaeologists make of this 2000 years from now?

Quite an impressive and large building for a time when less than the top 1% had cars!
