The grey of cathedral walls betokening sanctuary within . . .

My first thought when I saw the top photo was "looks like a convent". This one is true to it's facade.

I love the angle on the first shot. Looks like a great place for photos.

How unusual to have a red wood door. And sure looks fabulous with all the gray stone. Beautiful place.

How amazing that this was built in 1389 JM, that fact alone is quite aweaome

I spent a week in Lisbon a long time ago, and almost every day we found our way to this place. I am glad to see that not much has changed...

I like the fact that Carmon Square has lots of circular lines in its structures. That doorway is magnifique!

Thanx for your visit today and I'm very glad to hear that you are doing well!

Quite a contrast to the building in your photo yesterday.

Responding to your comment on Sharon's Phoenix Daily Photo site, yes, the EU financial news is big news in the USA. It was the lead story with large headlines in this morning's newspaper in Arizona, and it is on our news every morning.

There has been a lot of news coverage for months of the disturbances in Greece. There was also coverage of the change in government in Italy. There has been some mention of economic troubles of Spain and Portugal, but not as much.

Of course, the amount of attention that the average American gives to reading the news, either in a newspaper, magazine or on line is disappointing, in my view.

Perfect composition of photos! Lovely archs above the doors!

Those arches cast some grand shadows. Beautiful!

love the 2nd pic!

The Gothic arch and door are familiar, but the rounded structure to the right of the top photo seems unusual (and lovely).

Your site still opens new pages that say they are about to begin being downloaded. I wish you could get rid of them.

Great pictures, the first one is stunning.

To answer your question about the blossom, it's a rhododendron blossom. Glad you liked it.

Have a great Sunday.
