I love the effects time and weather has taken on the dog! Even so, (s)he still looks so alive and alert. And I wonder what it must be like to live in a city that can boast an actual palace? Glad you are back out there JM!
I have to agree with Woody - the effect really is comical!
P.S. One of those white spots on the dog is shaped like a heart! May I feature this on a future Guest Heart Thursday? (With copyright to you and a link back to your blog?) :=} clytie-randomhearts.blogspot.com
He's still such a cute fellow -- even with the "stuff" all over him - in fact I think he has a great attitude -- even with the mossy stone! Great shot for the day, JM!
I've always had a thing about lichen. Perhaps it was being impressed by the novel, "The Trouble with Lichen" I read as a young teenager. This is great.

The effect is comical!
I like the expression of the dog, slightly annoyed and mischievous.
Why does it surprise you, that I think that 2012 will be awesome? Or did I understand you wrongly?
He does look annoyed by the things growing on him!
Poor thing he looks like he's got a case of the 'dreaded lurgy' JM!

Poor puppy, he is all covered with yellow stuff -- actually it looks kind of pretty in a way.
Interesting sculpture! :)
This palace is wonderful!

My god, they've eaten his eye! :-) The house doesn't look in bad shape, why would they let this wonderful sculpture get so beat up?
How odd. Like Lowell I wonder why they haven't cleaned him off a bit!
So you have them too despite all those wonderful blue skies!!!
Wonderful to see...
many thanks for sharing..
Extraordinary photo!
Comical indeed !
It looks like it has a skin disease. Impetigo?
Someone needs to take care of their dog.
I just love the expression on the dogs face while hanging on to his ball. The wall behind is beautiful. Diane
Oi, he has some skin disease.
