This piece of art reminds me of the figures created by American sculptor, George Segal, a true artist of human figures. I love this statue! How wonderful to have a Poets Park!!

What material is this, plastic?

A curious, but very elegant sculpture for one of the greatest poets in the world.

I've never seen a sculpture like this. I really like it. It is interesting seeing this piece juxtaposed against the more natural stones on the back right. I especially love the texture on the coat. And I really do appreciate being introduced to a new poet! I will look him up immediately.

What an amazing sculpture, I like it.

I'm disappointed with myself that I really don't know much about Fernando Pessoa - I'll have to research his work one day (translated into French, which I'm sure isn't quite the same... :(

wow, look at the detail in that coat. That must have taken a fair while to complete. A really well composed shot.

You have a park for poets? That's fascinating! I like the sculpture...he does look like a man of the early 20th century. My dad almost always wore a hat like that and a tie (not a bow tie, though)!

It could be James Joyce, but I don't think he spoke Portuguese.

I do know of this poet and unfortunately could not find much of it on the web though there was plenty of info about him.

As Kate wrote, this reminds «Louis» of George Segal's work...

I don't think I have ever heard of him before. I will have to check him out.
