The first thing that came to mind when looking at the top shot was a "cookie". Maybe I should go and get lunch... :)
God bless you!

The cathedrals in your country are so incredibly beautiful, JM! I always love your captures and today is a great example of why! Have a lovely evening and a great week!

What can I say...it's ornate, certainly beautiful, over-the-top impessive...and again your photos sparkle!

Re your comment on Ocala: What, you don't want a gator head for Christmas? Sheesh! ;-)

Yes, they're real and it's legal. Gators are protected here, but they can be hunted a couple of times a year, otherwise the population grows too big. A larger problem is in the Everglades in south Florida where people have let loose pet pythons which have multiplied and are now eating the gators!

Such a lot of work JM, I'm sure it took many years to complete the rebuilding after the earthquake.

Wow! So many beautiful details. I can sometimes understand why people liked to go to church in the old days.

The inside of the dome resembles an octopus. This is a grand church!

Is this open for everyone the year around.
Do you have to pay to see it.

It is very very beautiful!

Here in Stavanger some politicians want to take money to have tourists and other people visiting our Cathedral..... (that is why I asked you about this.)

@Gunn: Churches are free. However, if you want to visit the cloisters or other areas of the Lisbon Cathedral or the Jeronimus Monastery, you have to pay. I'm sure about these two.

JM, I knew we were kindred spirits. I loathe using a tripod and avoid at all costs. Now you know why most of mine are a bit "soft". YOURS are tack sharp and wonderful.
