Not a bad place to sit down. What is the view from the benches?

@Steffe: A huge fountain + the Monument to the Discoveries and the Tagus River in the background.

Might need a cushion. And a holder for my coffee mug.

Such a lovely place and you've captured it so beautifully. I'd like to see that view you describe from the benches.

Goes well with the building at the back! Looks like spring has arrived where you are.

Wonderfully composed to set the scene!

This is a superb photograph in every way. Beautiful benches but you know what I like best! Looks like a very lovely day. But I hope you get a lot of rain real soon!

What a great shot and how many happy memories you have evoked of my visit to Portugal several years ago...

A luz e a sombra sobre o jardim estão perfeitas.

I don't think that I have ever sat under an olive tree before!

I just read your reply to Steffe's question, what a great view that would be. The gardens behind look so beautifully tended JM.

Wonderful location and excellent image. The benches suit the building so well. I expect to see this image on VP's bench blog.

That looks so inviting!

That olive tree looks old. Olive trees are a pretty recent crop her in Oz and all the ones I see are small.

What a great setting this olive tree has.

@Joan: Really old olive trees have huge weird shaped trunks, they almost look prehistoric! There are plenty in gardens and parks as they became very fashionable a couple of decades ago. Don't ask me where they came from... :-)

What an inviting scene! «Louis» wants to sit on one of those benches and just let the day pass by for a while!

Beautiful benches under a beautiful tree!

Beautiful! It seems amazing that people would take that beautiful building so for granted that they'd sit on the bench with their backs to it! (No beautiful old buildings like that either in Florida or in Oregon !)
