CDP April Theme Day: Cobblestone

Chiado Square, Lisbon

This pavement is by no means the best example of the typical Portuguese cobblestone but the truth is I forgot about theme day until three days ago - thanks, Julie! - and, as I have had no time for a photo tour, this is the only shot I haven't posted that does fit in.

My pleasure, Jose. The response has been quite gratifying. Now to see if we can get people out and visiting others.

You can do a whole series of cobblestones as far as I'm concerned! This is great!

This is amazing - sometimes planning isn't better!

These look like designer cobblestones. Pretty!

This is a FANTASTIC cobblestone photo, JM! Bravo! Such fancy designs - it must have taken a lot of time and the work of a talented artisan!

I think this is a fine example. I love cobblestone, but like you, I didn't have time to get out and find some! At least ours is the real deal. :)

I knew I could jump to my favorite European sites and find photos of the real thing! Good one JM.

This is beautiful, JM! I love the shiny, wet cobblestones, the lighting and dark blue sky in the background. Terrific composition as always!

Embora tu aches que não se encaixa na perfeição do tema, a foto está ¨gira¨. Gostei do lugar, como gosto de tudo nesta terra.

Actually, I think this is the best cobblestone photo I've seen today! the light is beautiful and the subject matter is interesting and it's nice and sharp. The recent rain helps give everything a new and shiny look!

Portugal has better cobblestone plazas than this? Wow. This one is gorgeous and your photograph is also gorgeous.

Beautiful night shot with inviting light. You know, look at it another way. and it could be a mural at your feet. Wink.

I love this picture. Not because of the cobblestones (though they are interesting) but because of the way the houses seem to bend and stretch, it almost looks like its right out of an illustration. Awesome.

How truly lovely. I guess I expected to see cobblestones in Portugal but not such ornate patterns.

The stones are extra pretty and shining in the wet night.
