Decay (LXII)

Small neglected house at Carcavelos

Although there's a curtain on the window, I'm not sure someone lives here, the place is a mess.

I love these photos... great pics as usual. That's such a colourful house. What a shame it was left to decay.

This is indeed a picture of decay. Bright colors might ease the pain of living there.

Decayed, yet the bright colors hold true. It was once a beautiful home to a deserving family.

A quite colorful decay, but some paintwork is badly needed...

Maybe it is just "deferred maintenance".

Sad to see what was once someones lovely home falling into decay. Great shot as always, JM. I've been meaning to tell you that I do love your new header! Fun to see exactly where Oeiras is located! Have a great weekend!

@Sylvia: It's a 1910 map. I would like to use an older one, but haven't found any that fits in the header so far.

What will happen to these decaying places?

A little peeling perhaps - but beautiful colours!

It starts with neglect, then molders into decay. It looks as if someone got a running start long ago with the paint. . .then what?

Nice shots!

Some people live in a mess... This could be a pretty cool place!

At least the colors work well with one another. In this country, we would worry whether the place was being used for, shall we say, unlawful activities.

It could use some scraping and painting, JM, but I have seen far worse.

The colors are wonderful.

Something that interests me is the way that the most rundown places are painted in the most lurid colours as if an an attempt to make the mess more cheerful. I've seen it often here too.

Sumptious, lush, passionate red. Gorgeous decay, yet so alive

It's a shame. I love the bright colors of the walls on this house. And the lines from the fence are really nice too!
