As many of you might know, I'm not a photographer, I'm just a guy who points and shoot using tiny cameras so, before you ask (LOL!), I did nothing regarding this night shot, I just took advantage of the yellow street lights.
What a very fortunate shot. I was sure you had done some masterful post production on this shot, and to find out all you needed was some street lights to get this effect - my dear JM, what an eye!!!!
Brilliant shot JM, you had the perfect lighting already just waiting for you there! It does look kind of creepy yeh! It's not a platycerium JM, I'm not really sure what it's called..but I know what you mean the staghorns or elkhorns look amazing, I had one for many years and then it went and died on me, not sure why.
JM, that photo is badass my man. And you say you do all this just point and shoot. It would most people a good 20-30 minutes to set up and shoot something half as good as this. Shaun July Giveaway @ ValleysshutterBug
What?! I really thought you are a professional photographer. If you are an amateur, then I aspire to your level of amateurism. p.s. It IS a spooky looking house.

This would be perfect to post on Halloween. This could have inspired the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney World.

Really, a haunted house. Spooky!

Photography is all about seeing the light as the camera does and you have done a fine job!
Haunting photo!
Wow, spooky shot! I love the effect of the light. It really does have a haunted look.

I agree with Woody and you do see the light as the camera does and what another terrific capture! That does look like the perfect haunted house!

Ha ha, haunted, but I have to agree it does have that look about it. Diane
Love that house - love how the yellow street light worked so well for you on this - I agree a super Halloween shot!

Now that is just plain spooky! It does look like some Halloween cards and other pictures I've seen. Terrific light. Makes the sky look stormy, too.

You are a guy with a great eye! Wonderful angle.
You may just point and shoot but you've got an eye for great shots. This one looks very painterly and the color and light is wonderful.
Oh now I"m going to have some bad dreams tonight JM!!! But it's a great shot!

WHAT? You are a point and shoot guy? No way!

PS Alfred Hitchcock called, he wants his house back.
Spooky! I love it!
Looks like a haunted house.
The tone of the photo and the brooding sky makes the house look pretty scary.
this is marvelous, jm.
Very cool! I thought you had put some kind of editing effect on it. It looks like a painting. :)
O the mellow light adds so much character to this gorgeous building! As if waiting for a Gothic novel to unfold!
Great shot! Very spooky...
