A Long Mural

Sea Promenade at Carcavelos Beach

This wall, hiding a hotel/restaurant from the 50's ("about to be" restored for years!), has been recently painted by several graffiti artists

What a wonderful place. Isn't amazing how this artwork totall transforms these industrial walls.

This is a fabulous piece of "impromptu" art! Much better than the blank walls that have apparently been there for a while!

This is very well done, and that wall would otherwise be an eyesore.

And some horrendously talented muralists as well. These are really terrific.

It's hard not to like some of these works of art! Very colorful and they probably tend to lift the spirits of those walking by. It seems to me you've mentioned this hotel/restaurant before! :-)

JM, I just watched Grace Jones' Slave to the River from the Jubilee concert. Astonishing! Keeping the hula hoop moving for more than four minutes while singing her song in a space age costume . . . what imagination!!!

You weren't kidding when you said LONG wall. I like the way you lured us in with a few examples, and then BAM! It likes it goes on for a looongg while. A public art gallery if there ever was one. And it provides a public service by repurposing this oppressive/boring construction wall. I've seen several examples locally of construction sites (with actual construction going on--LOL) that immediately get artists to decorate their walls. Quite a nice trend. But it's the first time I've seen street art us a copyright symbol. More LOL. A sign of things to come? Thanks, JM, for participating in Monday Mural.

Not a fan of murals, but it is easy to make an exception for most of these.
