Your third photo is thought provoking. The life saving ring and the ship's steering wheel design makes on think that this is the tombstone of a seafarer.

These may be small, but they're quite elaborate.

The last one is so funny!

The only thing comparable to these that I've seen in this country are found in Louisiana. There must be a tremendous cathartic release in putting up such tragic momentos for one's loved ones.

The last one is certainly interesting. Diane

Beautiful memorials. That last one must have been a mariner.

Beautiful memorials. I love European cemeteries, they're so different than what we have in N. America.

PS: Due to technical difficulties, I can't post any pictures right now. But hoping to have the problem solved soon!

Yes, these have and do remind me of New Orleans! Terrific captures, JM, and I do love your blue skies! Hope your week is off to a good start!

I don't think I've ever seen a life ring like that. It looks like it may have come a little late in this case.

These are like artistic sculptures! Love the touch of glass and curtain in the first one and the last one definitely looks like a seaman's memorial with boat's wheel and maybe crossed oars on the side!

I don't think the life saving ring worked

My guess is that these three are each a mausoleum for one person. To my mind this shows a surfeit of ego, which a family vault does not. I do agree however, that they are a treasure to the eye. I also like the third one with the useless life buoy! However, even the second one, where someone has gone to the effort of threading the yellow flowers (plastic) through the memorial. Lovely post, Jose. Thank you.

I do like the middle photograph and the way the flowers peek through.

I don't think people really realize what great art is in cemeteries. These are great shots. Love the grate with the flowers.
