Decay, but a beautiful shot of it.

Sorry to differ, but I would consider this more quaint than decay.. If this scene were newly painted, it would not have the same charm.

In the USA, I can imagine an aluminum siding salesman trying to tell the homeowners that if they covered all of this with aluminum siding it would be maintenance free, etc.

Beautiful photo but sad as well. Diane

I like the arch as a frame for this rustic scene. This would work well in Black and white too.

It is a beautiful capture indeed, JM, and it is sad as well. I always hate to see the loss of so much beauty and history! Hope you're ready for a great weekend. Hope your Mom is well.

decay, but such beautiful framing for it.

You certainly have a good eye. Terrific shot!

I see the decay; but I have to agree that it fits here. If this was painted and covered over it would be just another alley, and you never would have been able to take such a beautiful and haunting shot.

It looks more like age than decay ... a beautiful spot of quiet.

What a lovely scene it may be decaying but it is still a beautiful corner full of atmosphere.

Reminds me of a masterpiece from one of the painters of old. Just gorgeous! A gallery nomination for sure!
