I'm a huge fan of the curve of the arch JM, so this is a winning image for me! I see you are a Shakespeare enthusiast also!
It is quite beautiful and very long and love the arches but think it might need a bit of restorative work - like paint?I'm glad you included some human figures as they give a sense of scale.
une allée piétonne tres classe. belle photo, j'aime bien cette impression d'infini
Your arcade triggers many happy European memories. Arcades give shelter from the sun and rain and are great places to keep a tryst.
Quite elegant and so nice in case of rain...
I love places like this.
I love how it seems to go on forever!! What a great shot of wonderful place! Beautiful!! Hope your week is going well, JM!
Classique et splendide. Un plaisir de déambuler, entre ombre et soleil...
Beautiful example of leading lines. You have a wonderful eye, JM.V
I want to be there to walk under the arches to the other end. :)
such pretty archways!
You have certainly put Portugal and Lisbon on my list of places I need to see - and want to see!
it's a beauty!
I like the side lighting on this shot, how long is that walkway exactly?
Gorgeous. Reminds me of place des Vosges in Paris, though the colours are different...
While I had this photo on my PC screen, my husband just looked over my shoulder and said, 'Isn't that lovely.' I couldn't agree more!
That's gorgeous and I long to walk through those bands of sunshine.
Love the contrast between the curves in the roof and the straight shadows.
Perfect shot! I love arches and the ironwork of the lighting is beautiful. I'm becoming a great fan of Portugal!
Beautiful corridor.
That is beautiful, JM. There should be a name for a photograph shooting down a series of columns, where the columns shorten evenly and the eye travels toward a vanishing point. I have a dozen photos like this stored for use some day . . .
