I was walking in Caxias when something peeking through the trees caught my attention. I jumped over the fence, walked for one minute and found this pavilion which is falling apart. I looked for the main residence and, actually, there are two manors not far away but none of them looks regal enough, so the 'mystery' remains.

what a wonderful adventure you're taking us on. thank you.
What an amazing treasure to be "decaying" away behind a fence. I'm so glad you jumped over to explore!!!
I like the way you jumped the fence to get the shot! No fear!
Actually, even in its decaying state it looks pretty darn nice.
What vine work nature works.
Most people are a minute away from mystery and never know it. JM, like a true blogger you jumped over the fence, got your shot, and lived to tell us about it. Good on ya!
You're very brave to have gone over a fence. In Texas you might get shot for that. Be careful!
Looks quite beautiful, what a pity it´s abandoned!
The kind of exploration I like...
Don't you get a rush of adrenaline when you find something like this? It's magnificent.
I love a mystery! It the top photo, I was thinking this isn't so bad but, in the second photo I see what you mean. It is slipping away. Such a beautiful structure.
What a marvelous find JM, and how exciting too, to spot something quite unexpected like this through the trees.. I would have been so thrilled!
beautiful place! don't get caught jumping fences!
¡Que todos tus deseos se hagan realidad! ¡Feliz Año 2013!
Un abrazo desde Salamanca.
I would have loved to have seen you jumping the fence and, yep, in Texas you would probably have gotten shot -- they do love their guns, even more than their property!! Terrific captures as always, JM, and how beautiful it is even in a state of decay! Happy New Year!! Enjoy!
Sylvia
That ballustrade is unbelievable, truly, truly a work of art.
What a beautiful find! Thank you for going "hunting." It looks almost like a very special secret garden.
Somehow, your "ruins" look a lot better than the ones I stumble on. (And I know what Sylvia K. up there is talking about). Love the lighting. I hope the economy will get better and these decaying structures you're showing us will eventually be revived because they're really gorgeous.
This is a really special Decay shot. None of my abandoned series ever have this level of grandeur or mystery. The vine is the added extra.
Well you have a mystery to solve for the rest of us.
Beautiful decay though. MB
You discovered an exceptional beauty, JM.
So beautiful and such a shame.
Exquisite.
