@Lowell: Yes, I guess it's a beggar. Actually there's another person sitting on the stairs but, judging from the luggage, it might be a tourist.

That is an interesting perspective, JM. The church has a crude style, but is nonetheless quite appealing.

That is quite an imposing building. That huge arched entrance seems big enough to drive a horse and coach through but, with the stairs in front, I'm guessing that never happened.

It looks to me as if this has been reconstructed at one time or another. Earthquake damage?
