This is an interesting photograph. It shows all the clutter one might expect to see in an alley over here.

that alley does have some unhappy energy.

An alley can have a different feel to them than the street they are attached to. This one is a bit scary.

That's a lot of decay. But the blue sky makes it look nice. :)

and still so full of color.

Sad to see so much decay, but as Halcyon wrote, somehow the blue skies over shadow the ugliness!! Great shot as always! Enjoy your weekend, JM!!

before reading your caption, I actually thought, Nice contrast; but after studying the pic, yes, I wouldn't want to walk there in the night!

You are the master. Of decay. And that's a good thing! :-)

I would be afraid to walk there in the daylight much less at night! Scary indeed.

And it's a very interesting juxtaposition between the decay and the National Pantheon.

It sort of looks good on photograph but it's still kind of sad. Happy weekend JM!

Scary but also intriguing, I love the contrast between the Alfama alley and the beautiful dome.

The contrast with the Pantheon is stark, as it is with the white building to the left, also. You caught it nicely with the bright blue sky.

What a sad street and so near the beautiful Pantheon.

Scary and smells damp and unpleasant I reckon.

Excellent perspective JM, a really interesting shot with the contrasts. This alley is definitely not as pretty as most of the shots in your 'decay' series, but it's very real!
