Resting the feet...I've had to do that on trips many times. Great shot! I looked at that Facebook link you sent. Isn't that amazing? What a difference in such a short time. I also remember my very first cell phone. I had to get a bigger purse just to carry it.
They are possibly exhausted from looking at all those lovely buildings and scenes (in person) that you show us...looks like a nice spot to catch 40 winks :).
After a long and snowy winter, this prone position would be wonderful, to hear the waves roar, and take the sun - and to be a turist somewhere. Have a nice weekend
