I'm not trying to be insulting and I rather like the sculpture but my first thought was they were sailfish or sharks that ran into a post and got stuck! :)

Parque das Nacoes looks like a beautiful place. Love those buildings - I think the architect must have designed them to remind us of ships.

In other words, this is a beautiful photograph - a postcard!

You do have interesting buildings and sculptures in Lisbon.

@Lowell: LOL! You are right about the building, it's close to the water (the Tagus estuary is on the right).

You framed this greatly: love the architecture and also de Jomen Sol, but a bit of bright color on the sculpture would have been a nice touch...

Oh - I love everything about this pic! Just fabulous!!

Yes the buildings that I showed are brick as are the vast majority of buildings in Toronto.

That is a truly great sculpture and the building behind it is pretty attractive too.

Love the architecture and Lowell cracks me up, as usual. It's quite an impressive piece of sculpture.

I like the buildings. The statue? Not so much.

Dogwood's botanical name is cornus florida. They are found in the eastern half of the USA, but not in southern Florida where it is too hot or in northern New England where it is too cold. They are beautiful small trees that occur naturally in forests under taller trees. They are used as ornamental trees in yards like mine where they can get some protection against full all-day sun.
