Two friends of mine, who are excellent cooks, decided to create a blog. It's called Sabura di Terra, which means "Flavours of the Earth" in creole language from Guinea-Bissau and I've been photographing their delicious food from overseas. Photographing food is not an easy task and as I am not a photographer, I've still much to learn.

Looks delicious. Often the food photographers spray oil over the dis to make it look a million dollars. My son however, who got to eat the delicious food two chefs cooked after shooting it for their cookbook, never did so.
Just enjoy lots of the food until you discover the best angles and light.

You did a great job with these photos. I agree that food photography is a challenge and it is difficult to get a pleasing image. I always try it when I post a review on Trip Advisor, but am not very successful. I love Dina's comments about sustenance.
@Arija: We always eat the food, therefore I can not spray it! :-)

Well, my friend, if you get any better at photographing food, all of the major food magazines will be fighting for your services.
These are superb pictures.
And please stop saying you're not a photographer - you're one of the best with a great eye, and a great sense for what's important in a photo!

I always think you are one of the best photographers on the blogs and these shots are great! I have many food photographer friends and they would be proud of these shots.
