Saint Anthony's Day

Summer fair booth at Oeiras

Saint Anthony is Lisbon's matchmaker. Tradition says a potted manjerico (greek basil) should be offered to the one you love. There's a paper carnation and a little flag with a popular quote on every pot.

What an interesting and nice convention. We don't have any similar convention here. Thanks for sharing and hope your wish will be granted :)
Have a great day!
Best regards from sunny Budapest.

Very interesting! I've never heard of offering someone a basil plant. Maybe I'll try tonight and see where it gets me. ;)

Can't believe we're already back to St. Anthony's day. Time really flies even if you're not having a lot of fun! :) The potted manjericos are a cute tradition...I'd certainly get one for my love if I lived in Oeiras!

Couldn't find my keys this morning and said a small prayer to him and voila I found them a minute later. Coincidence?
