"A Mimosa da Lapa"

Favourite grocery shop at Lapa neighbourhood, Lisbon
It's amazing what you can find here, I guess many of the goods are not for sale anywhere else in Lisbon, maybe just in the countryside. The room in the background is used for exhibitions, performances and so on.

I would have fun just walking slowly around the place, looking at the treasures behind glass.

Exploring that store would be a real treat, and probably expensive, too!

What a great place to shop at. Lucky you, we hardly have a sop like that anymore, they went out with the mushrooming of supermarkets.

I'd love to pop in and take a look around. I'm sure I wouldn't understand what anything is, but it looks interesting. :)

Every time I see a place like this I curse supermarkets...

This reminds me a lot of some stores in rural areas of this country. Many years ago, my uncle owned one in Kansas - in a little town at a crossroads. He sold just about everything under the sun.

I would love this place and could doubtless spend hours checking all that it offers!

I can imagine coming away with the ingredients for some memorable meals. It looks like a perfect and perfectly dangerous place!

Is that your skateboard propped in the lower corner of the last shot, JM?

I love shops like this, rarely buy anything in them though ... too expensive.
