"Marilyn" is the name of these gigantic shoes, maybe Joana Vasconcelos' most famous creation made of stainless steel pots and pans and their lids, now on display at the Ajuda National Palace (previous post). Don't miss this exhibition if you have the chance.

I know no-one can fill Marilyn's shoes but this is asking too much They do look splendid, especially in that palatial setting.

Wow, gigantic shoes! Amazing creation, who would think pots and pans could turn into shoes.
Oh WOW! What a great sculpture. And it really fits well in this space. I like the opulence. :)
That pair of shoes are just GREAT. There is a fellow out this way that does similar art in Stainless Steel. He made a gigantic pair of cowboy boot that sat in his pasture for awhile before they were trucked to Colorado and now he has a huge purse. always forget to take a picture because i don't want to go into the pasture or ask. holy smokes! wow!
This is amazing! I would never have guessed it was made from pots and pans if you had not said it.
This is simply amazing. I'm glad you have the picture from the back. You can actually see the pots from that angle. I'm always amazed and delighted at the originality and creativeness of the artistic mind.
Thanks for letting me know the name of the fish I pictured today. It's a beauty.

Amazing! You know I am not a fan of these things, but Joana Vasconcelos is in a league of her own...
Wonderful! That's a use for pans and lids I wouldn't think of. And somehow this fits into the setting.
