Ginjinha is a liqueur made by infusing ginja berries (sour cherry) in alcohol and adding sugar together with other ingredients. The drink is served in a shot form with a piece of the fruit in the bottom of the cup.
A Ginjinha at downtown Lisbon was the first establishment in the city to commercialize the drink that gives its name to it and it's ranked #130 of 640 things to do in Lisbon by Lonely Planet travellers.

No conocía esa bebida.
Buen fin de semana.

Sounds pretty tasty. Hope that the baby isn't one of the customers!
It does sound good!! And that is a big crowd, so it must taste great as well! Love your capture for the day, as always. Enjoy your weekend, JM!
One might have to be there a while to get down to 130 on the list. You might have to live there to get to 640.
@Sharon: :-)))
oh, i bet that is good!
I am sorry I missed this: I would gladly have a shot of ginjinha just now!
Sounds like something I would like. We used to drink a liqueur called Cherry Kiafa, which as I recall was from Denmark. Very sweet and powerful and I loved it!
Can't afford it anymore, so I figure any port in a storm! :)) Get it?
Past and present...
Nice moment from the street - the baby is very lovely...and sure that Ginjinha is very interesting.
This is a funny composition. You have the sign for the liquor at the left but a young woman with her camera and child on the right. The right side doesn't match the left!
I love Ginja, thick, sweet and delicious! I never visited that shop in Lisbon, but have been to one in Sintra. Wow 640 things to do in Lisbon, you really have to live there to do them all!
Sounds like an interesting drink. Love the poster.
Sour cherry is a powerful anti-inflammatory. So I'd say that ginjinha probably qualifies as a health drink, no?
No aspersions intended, JM, but the two guys in the advert look like they've been drinking harder stuff than ginjinha.
Amei o poster vintage!
