I used to love these shaving brushes. To shave that way just took up too much time, though...in our busy world who has time to shave? But there's nothing like lathering up soap in a dish with a shaving brush!

Oh wow, this brings back memories. When I was very, very young, my grandfather lived with us and he used a shaving brush like these and a straight razor like the ones displayed. I remember loving to watch him shave.

I can't remember the last time I used a shaving brush and I was always afraid of stright razors! Great display, by the way!

Beautiful detail photo, JM, I love old shops like this, there are so many things that elsewhere you can't find no more.

How wonderful!! It reminds me of an old-fashioned barber shop in London that stood for years and, shockingly, just disappeared sometime the past year or so. Replaced now by some luxury motorboat shopfront, sadly.

This is wonderful, JM. This kind of store is nonexistent around here, but I saw a few in Venice when I was there.

Some of these pieces look beautifully made and depending on the fiber used, those brushes can be very expensive. One wrong move and some of these things can cause a big "ouch."
