This giant ceramic lizard is checking what's going on outside the walls of the garden, while others warm in the sun among the bushes.
Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro (1846-1905), known for his illustration, caricatures, sculpture and ceramics designs, is considered the first Portuguese comics creator. Many of his works are on display at the gardens of the City Museum (Pimenta Palace), in Lisbon.

I enjoy how you have the lizards "warming" in the sun!

Interesting, how many lizards are there?
I like the vibrant colors, and shine.

how funky!
Beautiful lizards!
I didn't know Bordallo Pinheiro, thanks for showing us these amazing works of this great artist.
I don't think we're going to see many such extraordinary works like this for the theme JM :)
P.s. honestly it was so thrilling to see the work by Vhils, I really hope he comes back to Perth. Have you actually seen him while he's creating?
Colorful buggers, aren't they!! Great, fun captures for the day, JM!! You do find the best ones!! Thanks for sharing the smiles as well as the beauty! Have a great week!!
nice find ! :)
Excellent, JM.
They are beauties and what a good shot for the theme.
And a fine fellow he is!
That first one looks very real at first glance - a wonderful interpretation of the theme!
Cool!
Apart from the fact it's a great photo, that's something to scare the kiddies.
Beautifully taken JM.
what a pretty art piece.
Nice one! I love both creations and the take on looking out...and also love learning of this artist!
Not quite at escape velocity. Brilliant idea, though.
Now that's fun.
Wonderful. I love ceramics!
I hope that you'll have a great week!

What a great choice for this theme day!
These images take the cake, in so many ways! :-)
For me, your mentioning "warm in the sun among the bushes" in the subtitles really hit me. I'd like to be one of those lizards, right now, basking in warm sunshine.
