A Quiet Winter Beach Scene

Such a contrast to what happened all along our coast yesterday. Waves were as high as up to 14 meters in some places where they washed cars and everything else away like little tsunamis, buildings were destroyed and there is a lot of damage everywhere.
Take a look at this video shot in a city up north.

Um lindo dia finalmente depois da tempestade. Pegamos muita chuva durante a viagem no UK semana passada.
A foto está muito linda!

Oi, it sounds bad, what you say.

Glad I was not the one shooting that video!

@Leia, Perth and Tanya:
This photo was NOT taken today. Today the ocean is still wild and the beach, and the shoreline in general, are unrecognizable, covered with debris and all kinds of trash! A depressing sight.

Wonderful image full of calm and serenity. But I think that a sight of the currentild beach would also make a dramatic black and white image.

You're so right! Those waves look just like tsunamis. I hope you're able to stay safe and sound, JM.

I had caught up with the snow storms in America but did not realise that you were also suffering wild weather. I guess the wild times let us appreciate the calm.

I would love to be walking there.

It is sad to think of the devastation to this location, which is so peaceful and beautiful in your photo. The video tells us once more how powerful an angry Mother Nature can be.

Just what Portugal needs, a tsunami. I'm sorry to hear it. What a mess. JM, you stay safe.

I hope it all gets cleaned up fast, the coast gets back to it's normal gorgeous self quickly, people and animals are safe, and children are not overly traumatized. The powerful ocean shows us the most soothing and the scariest. Maybe it's best not to live or have businesses located right on the beaches, just incase!

What a storm, what a video. You don't need any snow, you have so much water and wind.
