Free Tibet

Chiado Square, Lisbon

March 10 is the anniversary of both the 1959 and 2008 uprisings in Tibet, an extremely significant date in the Tibetan calendar.

Good to see that there are people around who do care about situations that are important.

Excellent street shot, JM. I find it interesting that you have Tibetan protests in Lisbon.

A great shot for a sadly hopeless cause!

I agree, a great shot indeed, José.
We have also here Tibetan protests from time to time, but not so colorful...

A good shot.

It might take decades... or longer. But the time will come.

This is a cause dear to my heart. I guess because it involves China and big money, it doesn't get a lot of play. And it should. I have seen documentaries of contemporary Lhasa, what it has become, and it is negative and heartbreaking. Not to mention how it has become what it is today. I can only hope that more and more people continue to come to their senses globally about many such issues, all interrelated...

One of the many political situations that gets forgotten in the crises of the moment.

I haven't seen this display re. Tibet for a number of years now. Needs more publicity, I think!
