You are the master of decay! I wonder about the "bones" of this building - if it would be worth renovating and if other buildings in the area are in as bad a shape?
Is this house protected? It looks really old. It has been some day very beautiful, and still is. It's a shame when these houses do not take care. Nice image.
@Lowell: Alfama is one of the most interesting districts in Lisbon. This is where the Moorish elite lived during the occupation. The mix of structures built over the centuries is amaazing and, although it's a poor neighbourhood, there are fantastic buildings and palaces among the humble common houses. Many are decaying, others have been restored and some even transformed in luxury hotels.
Thanks for the information, Jose! Living in such a "young" country, I'm always fascinated by the old, old buildings in Europe and you do share such wonderful ones!! Thank you! Have a great weekend!!
I wonder why every time you head a photo decay I think of teeth :) This is much more beautiful than my thoughts and much easier to restore. Have a great day. Diane

Nice image.
It's got good bones, if only I had the money and the know how to bring it back to it's former glory!
This is really too bad, and it would be a very nice corner with only a few improvements...

lots of charm, still.
I wonder if the new owners (when it gets sold) will patch up that wall.

A real fixer-upper - it would be beautiful again!

Definite decay... but there's something there well worth preserving. And I do like that arch!
how come your decays are always beautiful?
Wouldn't it be nice to restore them all?
What a wonderful old building.
Well, you would have to start with the windows. I wonder how structurally sound it is in earthquake-prone Lisbon.
How can your image make me want to see it in the flesh.... great photography yet again Sir.
Hope the building will be restored some time.
Ouch. This will need a very big bank account to fix it up properly.
Must have been lovely at one time. Beautiful arches and wrought iron details.
Alfama is such an interesting area. Decayed or not, this looks like it could have a nice second life.
I'm wondering what the price tag is on this building in its current condition.
Beautiful decay.
