I heard that hippos are the most dangerous big animal in Africa. They look slow and docile, but they have nasty personalities and can move deceptively fast.
As they say, it's in the eye of the beholder. You got a wonderful moment, though.

I'm not convinced that zoos are a good thing, but how lucky we are to get a close-up view of these animals.
