I would never have guessed it was done like this or that octopi came this close to shore. The man looks experienced.

i didn't realize octopus stay in shallow water. i haven't seen one of this fisherman solely catching octopus.

This is a great shot but I always feel sorry for captive octopuses, especially those destined for the dining table. They are highly intelligent and very appealing in a slithery way.

One question : Do you know the coast around Mira (between Ovar and Figueira da Foz)? Any place to recommend (or to avoid) ?
