Lage Creek

This peaceful creek runs through the town of Oeiras. After a winter storm in 2012, it caused serious flash flooding.

It's amazing how something so small can cause so much damage. It looks tame now.

I can see this causing floods, it's very near to the walls and houses. But it does look like a very quiet and peaceful place.

I can understand how it could be a threat particularly with the rains you've had, but in this pic it looks so beautiful and peaceful! Wonderful capture as always, Jose!! Have a great new week!

It is so lush and green. Mother Nature can be deceptive at times, too, so even a relatively small creek can do lots of damage if it overflows its banks.

The potential for damage is certainly there. Looks nice and quiet here.

I love how green it is.

Sometimes I read blogs and get "water envy." But when weather goes wild I'm glad to live nowhere near an ocean or river.

It doesn't look dangerous, but it easy imagine it after a heavy rainfall...
