New Monster

Sea Promenade at Monte Estoril (previous post)
A (ugly) Art Deco hotel was torn down to give place to this (ugly) new building.
The small building on the left is the original and still in use Monte Estoril train station (1889).

So they swapped an ugly building for another ugly building...
Glad the train station is still standing!

I have to agree, it is ugly, but I do like the sea wall and your beautiful blue, blue skies! I'm sure there is a great view from there though, just seems to be a big price to pay for it!! Have a great weekend, Jose!!

And that promenade is indeed wonderful, JM!

@Sharon and Sylvia:
The previous photo shows the view.

The new building doesn't really fit in.

Admittedly it is not the best building, but I have seen far worse!

The sea wall still looks pleasant, but that's not a good looking building.

I hope you will show us the inside one day.

Old is more beautiful.
You have to look only to the sea when doing any promenade :)

That is the way with cities. I have been down to the city today and come back with the normal mixture of exhilarated and glum. The buildings are the glum bit.
