Sé Catedral

The construction of the Lisbon Cathedral started in 1150.

Given its age and the multiple restoration works carried out in time, the cathedral is a composite expression of several architectural styles: Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, and Neoclassical, combined in a robust structure haloed by an all-engrossing medieval vibe. (lisbon-tourism.com)

There is a lot going on in the design of this cathedral.

The size and height of the ceiling is stunning!! Your pics take my breath away and I can only imagine what it would be like to walk inside myself!! Amazing! Such terrific captures -- as always, Jose!!

Yeah, that's the mot juste! It is the "medieval vibe" that I love in such churches!

Do you know if the frescoes are the originals that have been restored or not?

Beautiful angle for a magnificent church. And I second Dina for the 'medieval vibe'!

Of all the cathedrals I've been in, it has the best atmosphere.

Very cool. Hardly any old building I have seen on the current Italian tour is pure. Most mix architectural styles delightfully.

There are lots of interesting buildings that are a mash-up of styles but you have to look hard to see the halos.
