Decorated For The Season

Banks own some of the most beautiful buildings at downtown Lisbon.

It's frustrating to know the preposterous amount of taxes we pay is used to save banks regardless of the crimes commited by many bankers and other speculators. If only 2015 could bring some more justice... but I know I'm being naïf, things will never change.

Happy New Year everyone!

Yes, it's frustrating to pay taxes on all incompetence. That is an amazing building. Happy New Year!

Basically, you could say exactly the same thing here in the US. Not one greedy Wall Street banker has ever been charged with bringing the US economy to it's knees.
Love those decorations!

True words, Jose. The greedy criminals who nearly destroyed the economy for many countries have never, ever been held accountable, and never will.

Beautiful decorations.

Ah, yes! Exactly the same here in the states and it is disheartening!! A beautiful capture for the day as always, Jose! Wishing you a Happy New Year seems a bit naive these days, but I wish you one anyway!! Enjoy! Thank you, as always, for visiting my blog and commenting!! Always greatly appreciated!!

It's the same here. I guess a few bankers went to jail for a short period of time, but the kingmakers always seem to get off!

Let's hope for better times in the new year.

Our banks in Canada are well controlled by the gov't and so they never got into trouble and required no bail-outs, but they do continue to make billions from us while cutting back on services! Happy New Year, JM!

Wise words! Things often change, but usually for the worst...

Who knows, they might. The decorations are lovely and subdued.

I agree, lovely building.
I wonder if 2015 will bring about some change in the justice in Portugal?
I think a new revolution is needed!

It's true that us "little guys" shouldn't have to pay for the excesses of the rich...but some things never change, I fear. Having said that, I wish you all the best in 2015, Jose!

You couldn't go wrong with any or al of these! You do such gorgeous photography all year round. I'd frame and hang these in my gallery if I owned one.

Thanks for "being there" this year and we wish all the best to you for 2015!
